SON OF MAN

Luke 19:10 (NKJV)

“for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Son of man

Jesus referring to Himself as Son of Man just as our Lord throughout the Bible designates Himself about 80 times in all as the Son of Man indicating that the Old Testament prophesies and Genesis’s own fore view will come to fruition through Jesus Christ our Savior who came to look for the lost.

Ezekiel 2:1 God spoke to Ezekiel and told him “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you,” when sending him to the rebellious people of Israel. Son of Man is His racial name as the representative Man, as Adam was the first man then Jesus was the Man from heaven in the sense of 1 Corinthians 15:45-47, Son of David is distinctly his Jewish name, and Son of God His divine name. Our Lord constantly uses this term as his mission is described in Matthew 11:19 and Luke 19:10. His death and resurrection in Matthew 12:40; 20:18; 26:2 and His second coming in Matthew 24:37-44; and Luke 12:40 transcended in scope and result. When Nathanael confesses him as "King of Israel," our Lord's answer is, "Thou shalt see greater things. . . the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man." When His messengers are cast out by the Jews, His thought leaps forward to the time when the Son of man shall come, not then to Israel only but to the entire race ; Matthew 10:5 Matthew 10:6 ; 8:23 . It is in this name, also, that universal judgment is committed to Him John 5:22 John 5:27. It is also a name indicating that in Him the predictions and prophesies of the blessing that mankind will receive through a coming man who would be the Savior in Genesis 1:26; 3:15; and 12:3; Psalms 8:4; and 80:17; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7; 32:2; Zechariah 13:7.

Yes, Jesus is the Son of Man and YES He is our Savior.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.

The first part of this verse says "Jesus Christ." The word "Jesus" means savior. The word Christ means anointed. Jesus is the anointed savior. Jesus was commissioned by God to become a man, die on the cross, and bare our sins in His body (1 Peter. 2:24).

He was anointed at His baptism when the Holy Spirit came upon Him and He entered into the Melchizedek priesthood to be the high priest sacrifice for our sins according to the Old Testament: Leviticus 8; Numbers 4; Exodus 29.

But, we must remember that Jesus is still God and man, even now.

Colossians 2:9, " For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

Because He is God, He is holy and righteous, and His words cannot be broken.

Some may ask, "When Jesus became incarnate, is this not a change in him?"

No. It is not a change in what the Word was. As it says in John 1:1, 14, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." The Word added human nature to His divine nature in the person of Christ. Therefore, Jesus who is the Word, is still divine, holy, unchanging, pure, forgiving, humble, trustworthy, gentle, kind, and so much more ... and at the same time, He is also a man.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.

In the Old Testament we see the work of God through His people.

· We see God saving the world through Noah.

· We see God blessing the nations through Abraham.

· We see God providing the Law through Moses.

· We see God promising the Messiah through David.

We see Jesus dying on the cross for your sins so you might have redemption and forgiveness.

We also see through all of the promises, many physical appearances of God: Genesis 17:1; 18:1; Exodus 6:2-3; 24:9-11; Numbers 12:6-8, compare with John 6:46.

This is because God was, and still is, involved with His people.

In the Old Testament, it was the pre-incarnate Word that appeared to the saints.

In the New Testament, Jesus was with us in person.

Now, He lives in our hearts (John 14:23).

In the Bible, Jesus is unchanging. Throughout history in cults, they claim Jesus changes.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.

This means that Jesus is here with you.

If He was with the Saints in the Old Testament, helping them, and guiding them, then He is also here today with you doing the very same thing.

He is involved in your life every day, today. Right now!

He is not only a hope for the future.

Jesus said,

Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.

· Jesus was with the saints of old, as is shown in the Old Testament.

· Jesus is with you today because He said He would be with you always.

· Jesus will be with you in the future. To be with you always, means always... forever.

In all of eternity, the Lord Jesus will be forever interceding for you.

Never in all eternity will you have to worry about God failing, about God changing His mind about you, or about being rejected in anyway.

God cannot change. He cannot break a promise. He cannot stop loving you. He cannot cast you away.

Conclusion

· It means that you can always count on Jesus being there in your life, even when it doesn't seem like He is. He doesn’t change.

· It means that you can always depend upon his character to never change.

· It means that you can always know that His love for you cannot decrease.

It means that you can always depend on His commitment to you in all things, at all times, in all ways.

Though the world changes and we change, Jesus never changes.

You can always count on Jesus!

Chain Letters or Emails Are They Godly?

Chain Letters or Emails

Are They Godly?

In today’s world of technology it is inevitable that one will receive either a chain letter or email, sometimes these could even come from those that profess to be members of the clergy. These documents will advise us to do something like forwarding them on to avoid something bad happening, or in order to receive some blessings. This is but another form of mind control taking advantage of individual’s weaknesses and or knowing that individuals may be in need of attention. Whatever the case is Christians need to be prepared to deal with these documents.

Consider the following points as you deal with this issues but first remember what Jesus Himself tells us by just reading Luke 10:19 “Look, I have given you authority over all the
power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you,” or Mark 16:18 “They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them…” (NLT)

First Point is the assurance that good fortune will result in following the direction or bad things will come your way should you not do as instructed.

While if you follow directions some good things might happen, do you really think it is because of the chain letter or would they have happened anyhow, at the same time if you do not follow the instructions and something bad happens is it because of your not following those instructions. Are we supposed to follow the advice of man or should we put our needs in prayer as we have been taught by Jesus Himself when He tells us to go directly to the Father and ask in His Name John 16:24 “…Ask, using my name and you will receive, and you will have abundantly.” (NLT)

Second Point is that when we think that something bad will happen if we do not follow the directions we are the telling God that we have very little faith, that we do not trust Him, we definitely do not understand the difference between truth and lies, that we are allowing Satan to control us through fear instead of relying on Him.

As our faith grows we should put more and more of our trust in Him, Jesus tells us in John 3:18 “There is no judgment awaiting those who trust Him. But those who do not trust Him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God.” How could those who profess to be members of the clergy then persuade those in their flocks to pursue the advice on a chain letter or email?

Know this Third Point, The Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit do not place threats upon you, or curse you, no but Satan and his legion of demons does. Curses, threats, strongholds, or bondings are all satanic. These are all forms of IDOLATRY.

Jesus tells us in Mark 7:8-9 “For you ignore God’s specific laws and substitute your own traditions…You reject God’s laws in order to hold on to your traditions.” (NLT)

The Pharisees claimed to know God’s will in every detail of life and unfortunately today there are religious leaders who add rules and regulations to God’s Word leading their flocks by confusing them. Yes it is idolatry to claim that one’s interpretation of God’s Word is as important as His Word itself. It is ever so dangerous to set up believers to follow unbiblical standards, instead look to Christ for guidance about your behavior and let Him lead other in how they deal with the details of their lives.

Satan is the father of lies, he shows it every time he opens his mouth, do not participate and believe in the curses that could supposedly be placed upon you by not letting him
manipulate your thought process, you are not a puppet, you are a child of God, in John 8:44 Jesus told the leaders of His time “For you are children of your father the Devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning and has always hated the truth. There is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

Lastly, what should you do when you receive either a chain letter or email?

By the authority given you by Jesus Christ, renounce it, rebuke it, and confess loudly the authority given you by the Lord Jesus Christ that you refuse to allow Satan to manipulate you.

Put all of your trust in Jesus Christ when he told us that we were given the power to walk among serpents and scorpions, and that nothing of the world will hurt us.

As a Christian you have this authority given us by Jesus, if you are reading to this message and you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ I invite you to call me at 469-528-0255 or email me directly at dbarberis@rayedredemption.org or visit us at http://www.rayedredemption.org/god-s-blessing.html to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. A Solid Foundation

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 New Living Translation (NLT)

“10 Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.

12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. 13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. 14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.

Knowing that we are the temple of God, we must understand that like a tree, a building or a road to withstand the forces of nature they must be planted or built on a solid foundation, we must also be aware that when we came to Jesus we have been provided with a very solid foundation to build upon.

Paul tells us in these verses that there are 4 core principles to building upon that solid foundation.   First in verse 10 Paul tells us about the importance of a solid foundation, and in verse 11 he tells us that Jesus is that foundation. From verses 12 to 15 he tells us how we must build upon that foundation and that at the end we will be judged upon the work we have done with that very solid foundation.  Let’s analyze these verses a little closer and see what message Paul has conveyed to us;

1.    In verse 10 Paul lets us know the Importance of a Solid Foundation, that it should stand strong, not move, and that it will last.
2.    Verse 11 he tells us that we already have the Solid Foundation, there could be no other for that Foundation is Jesus Christ, who as David tells us in Psalm 18:2 that He is our Rock, our Strength and He is our Support – He is our salvation.
3.    In verses 12-13 Paul instructs us on what materials to specifically build on that foundation with and which not to use, he lets us know that it will be tested therefore we must build in Jesus’s way with the right doctrine and rightful living.
4.   Finally verse 15 lets us know of the impending Payment day when judgment comes if the work survives we will be rewarded, or we could lose that reward if we burn up the works losing our reward.  It is up to you and me how we build upon that very Solid Foundation.

Jesus Christ is that very Solid Foundation, Paul laid that foundation by preaching Christ and we must build by using high quality materials living righteous lives meeting God’s
standards.

We must build our temple in Jesus Christ, in a mature, spiritually sensitive, and doctrinally sound.  Remember that a building is only as solid as its foundation; the foundation of our lives is Jesus Christ, our base and reason for being.  All that we do must fit into the pattern that He provided for us.  Are you building your life on the only real and lasting Solid Foundation, or are you building it on a faulty foundation, one based on wealth, security, success or fame.

Two sure ways to destroy a building are to tamper with the foundation and to build with inferior materials.  We must build on Christ not any other person or principles.

On judgment day Christ will evaluate our contributions to His church and reveal the sincerity of our work.  God will determine whether we have been faithful to Jesus’s instructions and our good work will be rewarded while inferior or unfaithful work will be discounted.

“The builders themselves will be saved, but like someone escaping through a wall of flames” means that unfaithful workers will be saved, only by the skin of their teeth; their accomplishments will count for nothing.
