“I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.”
The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit that was there hovering over the surface of the earth (Genesis 1:2) that God filled Bezalel with on Exodus 31:3 is the same Spirit that He filled the likes of Abraham, David, Joseph, Noah, Isaiah, all the way through the Old Testament until that day when John let us know that Jesus is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit (John 1:33).
Jesus told the apostles not to leave Jerusalem in Acts 1:4-5 until God sent them His promise, the baptism with the Holy Spirit, that same Holy Spirit that was made available to all of us who receive Jesus Christ as our Savior on Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).
The Spirit of God was sent so that God could be with and within us when Jesus returned to heaven, the Spirit is with us to comfort us, to guide us in our knowing of the truth, to remind us of Jesus, to give us the right words to say and to fill us with power just like He did Bezalel.
The Spirit marks the beginning of the Christian experience, we cannot be Christians without his Spirit (Romans 8:9), we cannot be joined to Christ without his Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17), we can never be adopted as his children without his Spirit (Romans 8:14-17 and Galatians 4:6 and 7), and we cannot be in the body of Christ except by baptism in the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13).
The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit is His guarantee that we belong to him and the He will do what He promised as He told Moses He did to Bezalel.
